*Not* Livin’ on the Air in Cinncinati13 Aug

Sad news, but nothing can stop us from making the obligatory WKRP reference. Cinncinati’s CET will terminate weekday broadcasts of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood beginning September 1. Here’s the station’s reply to a recent viewer inquiry. At least she shows some empathy and it’s not a totally canned response…

Hello and thank you for your interest in CET. I’m so sorry to say that
MISTER ROGERS NEIGHBORHOOD will be moving and will become less prevalent
in our kid’s line-up. From now through September 1, MISTER ROGERS will
continue to air M-F at 7:00am on CET. Beginning on September 1 our kid’s
schedule will be as follows:

6:00 a.m. - A PLACE OF OUR OWN

However, on Sunday, September 9, MISTER ROGERS NEIGHBORHOOD will begin
airing at 7:00am on CET. I apologize for the disappointment this causes
for your children. Thank you for your question and thank you for
watching CET.

Please feel free to write again with any more questions or comments.

Sincerely,

This is a nice, but lame response. It seems a lot of the PBS stations who have already switched to airing Mister Rogers Neighborhood only once a week, are airing the show around 7 - 8 AM on Saturdays which is the worst time slot in the world. Saturday morning cartoons anyone? It’s like they don’t even want us to watch Mister Rogers! Sorry to be negative, I am just very upset about all of this, it’s you (this site and Mister Rogers Neighborhood) I like!

Please reconsider taking Mister Rogers Neighborhood off the air. A wonderful children’s show that my children loved and now grandchildren love. I think PBS is making a major mistake here.

There are 5 shows, by my quick glance, that they are repeating daily? There is no excuse for this…
