Hi all! The amount of press our campaign has been getting is driving a ton of new visitors to the website. I’ve been traveling on business this week, so I haven’t yet been able to address the deluge of emails we’ve received. So, I thought I’d post a few quick things here that I feel are important to reiterate…

Q. Is Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood being cancelled?
A. MRN has been in reruns since 2001 when the show ended production. And as most of you will know, Fred Rogers passed away in 2003. However, we believe the program is still relevant and should remain widely available to children and those who care for them. Please take the time to carefully read the information presented on our website to learn how PBS plans to significantly reduce distribution of the program — to once per week — and how local PBS stations have the last word.

Q. How can I help?
A. Please read the information presented on the lower half our homepage for details on how to contact your local PBS station, and PBS headquarters. We encourage you to do both.

I will be back home this weekend. I’ll respond to your email questions, interview requests, and will post site updates as quickly as I can.

Please continue to show Mr Rodgers Neighborhood. His show promotes kindness, calm and open minds in children along with imagination in all children.
His show is paramount to the development of toddlers across America.
    God Bless Mr Rodgers Neighborhood.

I have 6 children 13 grandchildren and 15 grandchildren. At one
time or other I have watched shows with the ones that are old
enough to watch. I would rather they watch Mr Rogers Neighborhood
than some of the ones were the children are sneaky, smart mouth
and make fools of their parents friends etc. With Mr Rogers
Neighborhood they learn good things. He is a little old for the
little ones they like the music, noise etc. But when they get
older it is nice for them to get good shows. Which Mr Roger’s
    Neighborhood is.

It would be a great thing if PBS would continue to broadcast MRN. In my professional opinion MRN has influenced children world wide, and on a positive note.
Taking this show and putting it in archives would be detremental to our children. It would take away the very thing that our country stands for. Honesty, integrity. MRN has had a posivtive influence on us all, from my childhood to my children. Save Mr. Rgers Neighborhood.

Taking Mr. Rogers off the air, is like a day without fresh air! His show is the only one that you can sit your child/grandchildren in front of the tv, and leave the room. Would affect many children who never get what he teaches on his show. Any other program that could take his place? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

hi i am a grandmother, i have three children that seemed to grow up watching mr. rodgers, my grandchildren all love mr. rogers, he is always soft spoken, and i can not think of a soul in this world who could say they do not like mr. rodgers, he brought out imagination which few kids today know what it is, he is a big part of the american family please dont take mr. rodgers off the air, i try to be kind and loveing to all the toddlers that come into my family store, i take the time to help them count their change. I know alot of people might fret about that, but to me the future of our children is very important, if the parents dont take time teaching them the important basic things, some one must be kind enough to help them along the way, for it our children and grandchildren who someday will run our great country. If more children grew up im mr rodgers footsteps, i believe there would not be gangs, there would not be bad people, for people trusted mr rodgers, he would never stear a child in the wrong direction. what happened to our american families that go goo over bad images on tv. that is not how you want our children to grow up, take some responsibility and keep mr rodgers in all our hearts, he is truely a big part of america. if your one of them who never sat down and enjoyed mr rodgers or saw the happyiness comeing from a childs face when watching mr rodgers i am truely sorry for you, for he was a great man in my eyes. please keep mr rodgers on the air, i like turning on mr rodgers when the youngsters visit my store, they all love mr. rodgers. please please keep our mr. rodgers around, so he takes up some of your air time but on the other side of the coin he is molding your children and grandchildren to be mild, gentle, and even tempered. a child who grows up with mr rodgers will wear a smile twice as long as a child who never took the steps to learn with mr. rodgers. thanks for listening to a old grma, no not old just trying to stay young and snappy like mr rodgers have a great day love mary and her kids and grand kids and all the kids who really love mr rodgers bye for now take care and God bless and be well, till then smile and be happy its going to be a great great day!!!!!!! bye now mary

My children grew up with MRN……he exemplified kindness, good manners and love for all. Now, my grandchildren are watching Mr. Rodgers. Please do not discontinue airing this beautiful program. Today, when most everything on TV promotes violence, sex, disrespect for your elders and just plain bad manners, there is little for our young ones to watch. PLEASE let MRN live on.

Ditto, the last. PLEASE, don’t take Mr. Rogers away!!!

Mr. Rogers represents one of the last vestiges of American Virtue. His gentle advocacy for kindness, understanding and tolerance has moved many children to consider the values that once were the linch pins of American culture. It is both sad and telling that his influence is no longer considered worthy by the network. Another meaningful voice for basic values will now be silenced. It will widen the gap in the moral understanding of children everywhere.
    I will miss him.

We need to silence the sarcasm and disrespect on kid’s tv. The immaturity of the media forgets that children respond best to sincerity and reassurance. Mr. Rogers was all things good for children. His show walks out the way we should be educating our kids, and he practiced all of the tenents of great child psychology through his doctrine of honor and love.
