Peachy News From Georgia Public Broadcasting30 Jul

We’ve heard from the communications director at Georgia Public Broadcasting. They’ve been airing Mister Rogers only once a week for quite a while. But starting Oct. 1, they’ll have a new digital channel, GPB Kids. There, they’ll show Mister Rogers every day, although the time has not been determined yet. So for the people of Georgia and nearby areas, this is actually good news.

She also said that PBS will send a week’s worth of episodes to the affiliates that request it, so it is absolutely something we can have an impact on!

That’s great news for GA! Thanks, Ann. I know some friends in Atlanta that have been dying to get the show back on the air.

I’m not sure what the spokesperson meant by the last comment — in fact, that may not be entirely correct as I understand it. But still, this is good news.

Mr. Rogers had a wonderful impact on my kids and it’s my hope that he’ll be around for my grandchildren and further. I hope that they will continue to make him available everyday, so count my vote as a “keep Mr. Rogers on daily.”

Thank you for continuing to air Mr. Rogers Neighborhood daily. I grew up with Mr. Rogers and that’s what our children need more of. Wholesome, educational, and just plain nice T.V. They get way too much of the feel good, mind numbing blandness of everyday T.V. So, thank you for helping educate our children.
